UP Fair 2017

THAT FIRST TIME FAIR-GOER FEELING

UP Fair is one of the, if not THE, best school fairs in the country. It is the annual fair of the University of the Philippines – Diliman Campus. It is a much anticipated week-long event for UP students and alumni. However, non-UP students are also welcome to revel with the featured local indie-bands. Upholding UP Fair's tradition of bringing only the best in the local music industry, the UP Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants organized UP Fair Elements. Having set a high standard last 2015 and 2016, it is a great feat that they were able to give the same high quality experience to the fair-goers this 2017. The lineup was a bomb! It was perfect. The bands lavished us with great music. Silent Sanctuary, Sponge Cola, Itchyworms, Rocksteddy, Hale, Sud, Mayonnaise, Lunarlights, Brisom, Monolog, Talata, BennyBunnyBand, Android-18, The Pop Punk Manila: All-Stars Sunday Radio, Unit 408, STLO and Blupoint all sent us rocking, rolling, and serenading. There were solo performers too! The music of Aia De Leon, Gloc-9, and Leanne and Naara were too awesome to be described in words. The experience was so fun! We didn't even mind the dusty ground (though we were wearing white shoes) and the slam moments (even though those really, really hurt). At the gate, they gave us free juice (Like yeah! Who doesn't want free things? Right?) There were also lots of food stalls and souvenir shops at the garden. So when we got tired and hungry, we just looked for a place where we can sit and eat. We weren't able to reserve tickets so we went really early, but waiting from 1:00 pm was worth it. We were there until 3:00 am! The only problem was the glass bottles on the ground. It was an open ground full of people. Who knows when the bottles might break and hurt some people? We hope that next year, the horrific appearance of random juice bottles won't happen again.
